On Oct. 12th Benjamin attended his very first Carolina Hurricanes hockey game! I got some free tickets from school and it was a last minute decision to go. Benjamin did pretty well, considering he was out past his bedtime! He seemed to be watching the teams go back and forth on the ice, before falling asleep amidst all the noise! However, when the Hurricanes scored and the buzzer went off - Benjamin woke up! But he didn't cry, just looked around and went back to sleep! :) He looked so cute in his little Hurricanes outfit!

Getting ready to fall asleep
The next big event for Benjamin was moving to his crib at night! For the last 15 weeks he has been in the cradle in our bedroom. We loved having him there and being able to check on him so easily. However, in the last week his little arms and legs kept sticking out through the slats of the cradle...our little guy was getting too big! So Friday night we put him in his crib. He only took about 10-15 minutes to settle in and fall asleep! Such a good night sleeper! He was still up a little early, but overall did pretty good...despite turning around in a circle! Saturday night went well and he slept until about 6am. On Sunday we installed the new mobile we got (on clearance for $12.99 from $50!) and at first Ben seemed to like it. But when we went to put him to bed, he did not like it so much anymore! Poor guy! Sunday night he went to bed at 8pm and slept until 8:05 am! 12 hours!!! WOO-HOO!!! :) Here are a few photos of his traveling sleep on the first night in his crib.
Starting out the night under the covers.
About an hour or so after bedtime.
About 3 or 4 hours later.
The next morning! Our little wiggle worm!
Now on to some of the new things Ben is doing this month. First of all he has added Giggles to his smiling! He loves the fan in our bedroom. One day I laid him in the middle of the bed and he just randomly started giggling. Then he would pause and do it again. He did that about 5 times! Now usually when you get him to laugh, doing that same thing won't make him laugh again...you have to be creative and think up something new. But EVERY TIME we lay him on the bed...he giggles at the fan! Silly guy! He also stops giggling when I get the camera out, but I kind of caught him yesterday. At the end of this video he sighs and it almost sounds like he is trying to say "bye". :)
Here is a picture of Ben in his Chicago White Sox outfit from Grandma Wegner...even though Baseball season is just about over. :)
Happy Boy! Cheering on the White Sox!
Finally, another fun trick Ben has learned is to hold his head up while on his tummy and pushing up with his arms for extended periods of time! He tries to scooch forward to...he's going to be crawling before we know it! Here is a picture I got of our smiley boy holding his head up strong.
And here is a little video of him in action. Although he was getting sleepy so he rolled over and started sucking on those fingers. He was asleep within 10 minutes after this video!
That's all of our exciting news for now! Next week we have Ben's 4 month check up, hopefully going to the Canes game against the Blackhawks, and heading out to another food truck rodeo! And of course, celebrating Benjamin's very first Halloween!
