Fun on the Farm and some other random things

So again, this post is overdue...and I haven't even gone back to work yet! YIKES!

Last weekend, we attended a birthday party for Ben's friend, Jameson! (He's our friend too!) Jameson had his 3rd birthday party on a farm! :) It was really fun to help him celebrate and to see Ben get so excited about things! Ben has finally begun walking, and the last few days has even decided to walk on his own! He'll be running soon, I just know it!

Anyway, when we were at the farm, we couldn't let him crawl - well we could have - because the ground was gravely and such. That would not have felt good on his knees! Although truthfully, it probably would hurt me more just thinking about than it would actually hurt him! I digress...Ben did a great job walking while we held his hand! One of his favorite things was the farm animals. There were goats and cows, and I swear he has now started saying "cow"! He couldn't get enough of them. One of the cutest things that happened was when a little girl picked up some goat food and put it in Ben's hand so he could feed the goats! So sweet...however, Ben wasn't quite sure what to do with it, so he just dropped it all on the ground!
Petting the Cow

Look at these cool cows! And a cute little boy standing on his own! :)
Goats and Cows...where do I look first!?
 Down the slide with daddy
Daddy and Ben took a little walk into the corn maze, but not too far!
The farm had this cool "train" made from barrels. A tractor pulled the "train" around the animal enclosure. We were probably pushing it a little bit, letting Ben ride, but since it was a party we got away with it! Ben did well for about half the ride, but when it got kind of bumpy it was ready to get out! Luckily I was walking besdie him and I was able to pick him up and walk back.
Hey, who is making this thing move??
I'll try to steer...or maybe I'll just try to eat this big round thing!
Each kid got to bring home a pumpkin too! :)
And we enjoyed a hayride. It was a bit long for Ben's attention span, but when I turned him around to give him a different view, I got a few more minutes out of him...we weren't going to be walking back from this!
Daddy, Ben, and Julia checking out the goats some more!
Daddy insisited that Mommy had to go down the slide with Ben too!
We took advantage of having Dan the photographer available, and the "pumpkin patch" to try a family photo! Julia's poor arm is bent or something, and Ben is eating his hands, but I think it turned out pretty good! Thanks, Dan!
And this was before the party...I wanted to get Julia in her fun party dress, and I was trying to get a picture of both of them...but Ben was not in the mood! Oh well, Julia looks pretty cute! :)
We had a really great time at the party - great weather, great setting! Erica made cute candy corn favors, and some yummy carmel apples for each of the kids! And she made fun farm animal cupcakes which Benjamin thoroughly enjoyed! Happy Birthday Jameson! Thanks for letting us celebrate with you!

And now, onto the random things! I just have a few fun pictures I wanted to share. First of all I finished the last two walls of Julia's nursery. I just have one more craft project to do, maybe that will be done by Christmas! You may remember one wall in her room is decorated with a flower painting I did, and 4 smaller canvases. Three were completed, and one was empty. I wanted to have each member of our family "paint" something. So I did a purple flower, Eric did an orange flower (what a trooper!), and we helped Ben use his feet to make a butterfly.  Now that Julia has arrived, we helped her use her feet to create a butterfly as well! (Ben's is yellow and blue, Julia's is purple and pink).

 The completed art wall!
My final project for the room was to have Julia's hand print and foot print framed. Ben has his in cute frames we got when he was born. They have little elephants on them and matched the theme in his room. I couldn't find anything similar to match Julia's room, so I found these sweet unfinished fancy wood frames. I painted them purple and added a little pink flower on the top. Then I did her hand and foot print on cardstock and added it to the frame. I finished the area off with some pretty butterfly decals I had gotten on sale a while back!

 The whole thing
And in cased you missed the other two walls...
One wall has Julia's name...
And the fourth wall has framed photographs of flowers I have taken. The middle one on the bottom is of a butterfly I saw in our backyard one day! :)

And now for a few random photos of our sweet little babies!
I cut out the cranky baby for this sweet photo of princess Julia!

Football Sunday with Daddy!

A sweet photo I took while Ben was napping and Julia was fast asleep!
 Love this onsie! Sweet girl!

I like this photo because my strong girl at almost 8 weeks old is holding her head up like a champ, and because she is smiling and wearing her cute "Born Happy" onsie. However, I don't think she looks like her. I know that sounds weird, but her face just looks different in the picture than it does in real life. And if you notice, my poor girl is loosing that beautiful hair she was born with. She still has some in the back though!

And a photo of my silly boy, thinking he can swing in the swing too!

For comparison, here is Ben in his swing when he was only a month or two old!

Well that's all I've got for now! It's about time to feed Julia and go down for the night! I tell ya, I love this little girl, but I miss my full night of sleep! Luckily she sometimes has a long 5-6 hour stretch...let's hope this is one of those nights! :)
