Julia is 6 months old!

This post is a bit overdue, but things have been crazy around here! I've been busy with work, Eric's dad came down for a visit, and before that we had our first true illness with Ben. It started with a case of croup, then turned into a pretty bad ear infection! He was miserable for over a week! Once he got better, and we had our sweet little boy back - I realized I had actually missed him!

So, catching up - Our Sweet baby girl is 6 months old already! I can hardly believe it! She weighed in at 15lbs 10oz (41%) and was 26 inches long. (58%). She's starting to sit up on her own - but still tumbles over! She is a rolling machine and scooches all over the place. I was worried when we did her 6 month questionnaire because she missed a few items since she is never on her back. But when I voiced my concerns, the doctor had no worries. Julia was on her back to be checked out and in the 2 seconds it took the doctor to turn around and grab something, she had flipped to her belly! HA!  Our strong little lady has started to love her jumperoo and goes crazy in it! She laughs and smiles more than she cries and she LOVES her big brother! It is really awesome to watch them as they begin to interact. The other day, Ben was tickling Julia and she was laughing so much! They both think it's funny when we make her "walk" up the stairs next to Ben! And Ben will bring her toys to play with and push buttons so they sing to her! One of Ben's new words is "baby"...so he loves to say baby and point to Julia. He also has started saying "Oh No" and covering his mouth when she cries and putting his finger to his lips and saying "Shhhh" when she is asleep!

Ben is 19 months now and the biggest thing - aside from loving his sister - with him is the amazing amount of words he has been learning! Some new ones include - baby, oh no, cheese, shhh, grandpa, meemaw, grandma, me (I say "Who is Ben?" and he points to his chest with his two thumbs and says "Me" TOO CUTE!! ) , bock (like a chicken - complete with flapping wings!), baa (for a sheep), and his newest one - just today - ice cream! Ha - he's totally my kid! :)

 

 

I love these two babies, that's for sure! And Eric and I are very excited to see what the next few months have in store for us as Julia starts interacting with everyone more.  We are planning a trip home to Chicago in June and I am so excited for our family and friends to experience all this cuteness in person! :)
